On 12th October 2008 CALM published its consultation paper which it has forwarded to the RSS Team in Bristol to be included in the Public Consultation process. CALM has also be sent endorsed copies to the Secretary of State for Communities and the leaders of all four Local Governments (Poole, Bournemouth, Purbeck and Dorset) our local MP and Conservative Party spokesman.

Chairman Andrew Carmichael said "In the document we have tried to articulate the view of the whole community and explain to the government the serious difficulties it is facing in delivering 2750 houses to the Area of search 7b (Lytchett Minster). We have endeavoured to leave no stone unturned in our fight to save our villages."

7th October 2008: The following extract from Hansard is the transcript of a fascinating and lively Debate on the RSS in the House of Commons, involving many MP's from across the South West region and showing cross-party condemnation for the RSS. Download it as a Word Document or PDF.
Sustainability Survey Results: The results of the Sustainability Survey have produced an overwhelming verdict of NOT SUSTAINABLE for the Lytchett Development. The survey used the government's own criteria for judging sustainability. Out of 220 responses only 2 people thought the development might be sustainable. Most people returned a score of 0 or 1 (out of 31) as a score for sustainabilty and a score of 31 or 30 as a score for unsustainability. Full details of the results are to be found in the consultation document.
How we responded to PDC's Western Extension survey - The final number of responses to the Council’s Western Extension consultation was 1,034 of which 436 were estimated as being from Lytchett Matravers, representing a response rate of 31% of dwellings in the village. This was apparently significantly above the average which was 19% within the delivery area. Well done Lytchett Matravers!
